I think I am a whiner. A person who complains damn easily. But I can’t help it. I should try to make my life less centred around me, me and me.

Despite my conscientious treatment and care, my precious right foot still look like some swollen trotter, like there is a layer of cellulose ( not forgetting my past as a top bio student) over it. But alas, I received a call bloody early in the morning asking me to report back to camp later at night. Ahhhh, there goes my freedom. Again.

Anyway, I realise, ironically, what the army has failed to teach me is discipline. My room is still in a mess. I can’t be bothered to even take a few minutes to tidy up my stuff. Too many a times I told myself I wont snack or slack but I usually give in anyway. And too many a times I procastinate on what I set out to do. Well perhaps I can put the blame of my behaviour on the lack of motivation.

You see, during the soccer season, the motivation to keep fit and stick to a proper diet was aplenty. Now though is a completely different story. Well I got to find some way to change! Or risk degeneration.

A day of fun-filled heart-pumping adventure

It’s been super long since I last had such a stony day at home. My poor ankle forbids me to step out and thus, I went on a movie marathon and also got a chance to ponder upon my future uni choice.

Which is what I want to blog about today.

The uni experience is probably going to be the last chance for students to actually enjoy life before embarking on their working journeys. I view a few factors in selceting my preferred course as mighty important and they are namely school culture, future prospect, practicality of the course and well, the potential CCAs or clubs that I can join. (in no order)

While I am pretty sure I am able to fit in in the 3 schools, I will very much prefer to join a school with students of vibrant lifestyle. In this aspect, smu sounds very promising as the students are generally seen as more outgoing and spontaneous. However, I am apprehensive about smu in the sense that I might not be suited for their ‘unique pedagogy’ as I am hardly as outspoken as my fellow peers and this will definitely cost me to lose out to others in smu esp when it comes to things like class participation. As for NTU, the campus seems dull and speaking as a H3 boy who reports to NTU everyday for a period of 2 months, the thought of entering NTU does repulse me a little. (no offense though!)

When it comes to future prospect, perhaps NUS business is a bit lacking as compared to the 2 other unis. NUS does not have a direct honours programme which means I’ll need to be the better students to actually graduate with honours. And that, is risky.

Of all the 3 courses, nus also seems to be the least practical. It requires students to study way more than the other 2 unis and of course has a longer course duration.

Haha. But I am starting to find myself inclined to choose nus biz and fass. Hall life sounds super fun and well compulsory anyway since nus is located like a million miles away from my wonderful home. But i still need to think extremely carefully and deliberate between smu and nus.

Hmmmm enough said. I still got a few more years to decide!

Currently I am suffering from a case of a badly twisted ankle and am motionless on the bed with a freezingly cold ice pack wrapped around my sore ankle. This is super shitty cos I will hate to get OOC (Out of Course). Hahaha but on the other hand, it’s a chance to slacken off inside.

I think I am really one lazy creature. Each time I tell myself I am determined to change my stupid ways. But each time, at the next moment, I find myself commiting the same stupid mistakes again. Hahaha. I am really too erm human.

Anyway SCS is really quite suitable for a person like me and I am extremely thankful that I am at home now rather than in camp.

and hey sispec! You know, I think the slack nature of mine is really more suited for you. I feel pleased to know that my life is not going to be as tough, and no longer have any grouses in not getting into your neighbour, ocs. So so so, put me into a slack company!

Hahaha. More importantly, I hope i get good mates there. That is, after all, the things that will stay with me in life.

Another whole new challenge to embrace.

I think ever since JC life ended, we are all forced to grow up in an exponential manner. Be it choosing our unis or scholarships, every decision now has an indefinitely big bearing on our life in future. Maturity is really scary and starting to seem less fun than I thought it will be.

My BMT adventure has come to a fullstop. A journey made fun by fellow recruits (or should i say privates), made satisfying by my willingness to try the untried and made worthwhile because of the little bit of maturity i attained.

But that is not to say that BMT has made me a better person. Hardly in fact. In terms of physical appearance, I grew fatter, less fit and have more pimples now. Hah. On a more serious note though, Bmt made me discover my worse side. Like how I like to join in “politics’ about people. Like how I can disregard actual facts just because of my personal feelings. Like how I am starting to become more and more judgemental. And of course, like how I continue to still act in such a manner.

I think those who said ‘winning is everything’ care too much about what others think.
